Does developing a perfect makeup really have to be so complicated?
As a makeup artist, I can say that there are several types of makeup, from the simplest to the most complex.
However, on a daily basis, and even for social makeup, the process of doing makeup can follow an uncomplicated and simple step by step.
In this post, I will share with you my workflow and how I like to do the makeup of my models and clients.
And the first step is to:
01 – Pre-Makeup
It’s the moment when I identify the skin type, clean, hydrate, and prepare it to receive thermal water, moisturizer, primer, mist, etc.
This process is essential for a perfect finish on your makeup. It’s a kind of express skin care.
Makeup colors and evens out the skin, but does not improve the texture as much if it is dry and rough, which is why pre-makeup is so essential for other products such as foundations, concealers, powders, etc. to present a beautiful result, in addition to making make the makeup last longer on the skin.
02: Skin Preparation
Phase 02 is where all imperfections, differences in tones, or any other stains are camouflaged and corrected.
It is when we transform the skin leaving it looking uniform and healthy.
This is where we use concealers, foundation, powder, blush, highlighter, contour and etc.
This phase is essential to create a glamorous, clean, lasting and beautiful makeup.
It is the skin that gives “support” to all the other products that follow.
03. Eye Makeup
This stage is where we create an identity and personality to makeup. This is where we define whether the makeup will be classic, more colorful, delicate, creative or fashion.
Eye makeup is one of the most striking parts and deserves a little more time in its execution and finishes.
With it it is possible to create the illusion of bigger eyes, modify the format, make them deeper, shallower or more mysterious.
Without a doubt the elaboration of eyeshadows is one of the most fascinating phases of makeup and the makeup artist who wants to leave his mark needs to master this aspect with mastery.
04. Lip Makeup
The timing of lip makeup is also very important and must be in line with the concept applied to the eyes and also the look, as the lips are also a strong point of attention and therefore must be in balance with the eyes so that harmonize and enhance beauty.
The lips can express a more sexy, romantic, bold or innovative look, depending on the color, technique and even the drawing style created with the use of lipstick.
The finish of the lips must be perfect so that the makeup has a professional and striking air.
The tip is to apply a little foundation and powder beforehand to “erase” the natural contour and to be able to draw the drawing you want with the help of a lip liner.
