It doesn’t matter, regardless of your level of professional makeup now, or even if you haven’t even started, started recently, or already have a 10-year career, mentoring can always be a great accelerator of results, or even an unlocker career.

But what do you mean, mentoring? Is this really important, necessary or relevant? Does it really work?

First of all I want you to understand what mentoring is:

Mentoring is the influence, guidance or direction given by a mentor. In an organizational setting, a mentor influences a pupil’s personal and professional growth.

That is, in a nutshell, mentoring is basically a process where a professional more experienced in a given area, advises, directs and helps his pupil to walk in a guided and assertive way his journey in search of his goal.

It is like when someone is lost in an unknown city and seeks the guidance of a resident of the city to show him the way to avoid wasting time, fuel and money by taking the wrong road.

Well, with that in mind, let’s see some benefits of mentoring and how it can be a very powerful strategy on your journey towards professional makeup success.

When to resort to mentoring?

There is no specific context for seeking mentoring. Mentoring is always welcome for all those who do not want to walk alone, or venture out without support.

And it doesn’t matter your age, your career, or titles you have. If you want to perform better in any area, looking for an experienced mentor in it will always make your journey faster, safer and more effective.

How to choose a mentor?

One of the most important requirements for someone to be a mentor in an area first, is that they really have experience in that area. Who has already had experiences and who has property in it.

For how can you be advised by someone who has not achieved what you seek to achieve?

When not to seek mentoring?

Mentoring is not a one-sided process. In other words, it involves a commitment, dedication and discipline from both the mentor and the mentee.

Therefore, do not seek mentoring if you are not willing to comply with agreements, carry out activities and put planning into action, because then you will not have the expected results and you may even think that mentoring was not efficient.

How does mentoring work?

Mentoring can be done both in groups and individually. When in a group, the ideal is that the proposed objective is the same for all participants, for example: “Mentoring – Improve your smoky face”, in which case activities and information will be given that will be directed towards this objective.

In the case of individual mentoring, however, there is more freedom for the mentee to place his or her goals and difficulties and this can be worked on during the mentoring process.

There are also online courses with mentoring, which consists of a course, a recorded program where the student must attend and carry out the activities, and in addition there is also mentoring that helps in monitoring and resolving students’ doubts, providing a better assisted learning experience. .
